The upcoming 2020 Census will require counting an increasingly diverse and growing national population of around 330 million people in more than 140 million housing units. To get an accurate count, the US Census Bureau must start work now and needs your local knowledge to get started! Come and learn what the Participant Statistical Area Program is and how it could shape your community for the upcoming 2020 Census and beyond!
H-GAC will host a series of workshops to engage stakeholders in open dialog about the process for re-establishing boundaries based on population growth or loss at the Census Tract and Census Block Group levels within the H-GAC region. The US Census Bureau requires that these boundaries are re-established based on population rise or fall with every decennial census count.
These workshops are designed for individuals at the county and local levels who utilize census data for planning purposes as well as any heavy demographic data users who base research and policy decisions on Census Tracts, Block Groups, or Census Designated Places.
Please note that online registration is required to attend these workshops.
