Water Outreach and Engagement

Public outreach is a cornerstone of the Water Resources Program. In all its projects, the H-GAC water resources group seeks to inform and educate local stakeholders about water quality issues and empower them to take an active role in the health of local waterways.

Educational and engagement opportunities include our Clean Waters Initiative (CWI), Coastal Communities, and Pet Waste Pollutes programs. Local decision-makers may participate in our Natural Resources Advisory Committee (NRAC) and residents may volunteer for our Texas Stream Team program or the River, Lakes, Bays ‘N Bayous Trash Bash event held each Spring.

Beyond providing informational resources through workshops and events, H-GAC houses outreach materials which are available for loan to local governments and organizations.
