FM 2354 Texas Department of Transportation 1/12/2015 5:15:36 PMProject Narrative
This three mile section of roadway contains mixed use traffic and serves as the main or Rural Major Collector for Barbers Hill ISD south of IH-10. It has numerous residential subdivisions located on the east side of the road. This project needs to have a center turn lane, widened shoulders, and left turn lane at Fisher Road to accomodate the increase in traffic flows due to the development in the area. By adding an asphalt center turn lane and widening the shoulders of the existing two lane asphalt roadway, as well as improving the intersection at Fisher Road, this project will improve the safety of the roadway. This project on FM 2354, an existing two lane asphalt roadway, will start at the intersection of FM 2354 and FM 3180 past Fisher Road. It will widen the existing section to accomodate a center turn lane and widen the shoulders. It will also add a left turn lane, northbound on FM 2354 at Fisher Road. A center turn lane has been considered as well as a No Build option. The improvements outlined in this application represent the preferred alternative. This project will not be staged as it is more feasible to construct as a total project.Project Narrative
