Roesner Road Extension and Widening

Fort Bend County

Roesner Road

from north of Gaston Road to the Fort Bend/Harris County Line, 2.38 miles

Roesner Road exists as a 4-lane thoroughfare for more than 2 miles south and west of Gaston Road to approximately 2000’ north of Gaston Road. The road does not exist over Willow Fork Buffalo Bayou, a geographic barrier to travel. North of Willow Fork, Roesner Road exists from Westheimer Parkway, north past Bay Hill Blvd to Katy Gap Road as a 2-lane road with open ditch drainage. Existing and ongoing development in the area and the gap (lack of a crossing) at Willow Fork cause traffic delays and safety issues that impacts parallel roads in the area.

Construct a 4-lane Roesner Road Extension from its current terminus north of Gaston Road, across Willow Fork Bayou to Westheimer Parkway. Widen existing Roesner Road from a 2-lane open ditch road to a 4-lane thoroughfare from Westheimer Parkway to Bay Hill Blvd, to the Fort Bend/Harris County Line.

The project will complete gaps in the existing Fort Bend roadway system, thereby improving mobility, improving safety, reducing delays and emissions while being responsive to continuing growth in the project area.

the Roesner Road project is challenging to ID a type of project. the completion of a much needed link is similar to the active transportation link or to a grade separation in benefit and life span though there is not a way to keep the project as one while providing separate B/C estimates for the widening project and the extension project. we ask that you allow discussion of how to submit a single project with two methodologies for the two projects.
