About the Program

The Gulf Coast Workforce Board, in collaboration with the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), is launching an initiative to partner with local employers to offer temporary employment opportunities supporting recovery efforts from recent disasters, including the spring storms and Hurricane Beryl. As part of the National Dislocated Worker Grant, the initiative provides critical assistance to the region by covering wages and offering upskilling scholarships for eligible workers.

The National Dislocated Worker Grant offers an opportunity for employers to provide temporary recovery positions. The program covers wages up to $25 per hour and provides upskilling opportunities to ensure workers can contribute meaningfully to recovery efforts.

Key Program Benefits

  • Subsidized Employment

The Texas Workforce Commission funds wages for displaced workers, reducing financial burdens on employers.

  • Upskilling Scholarships

Workers can access training and certification programs to enhance their skills. Limited scholarships are available to support individuals preparing for recovery-related positions.

  • Third-Party Agency Support

Our partner agency, G&A , manages payroll and HR tasks, allowing employers to focus on worksite quality.
