HOUSTON, TX – In response to the recent impact of Hurricane Beryl on our region, the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) is taking proactive measures to ensure quick access to essential resources for affected residents. As the 2024 hurricane season continues, H-GAC remains committed to supporting recovery efforts by offering a range of state, federal, and local resources accessible through its website, H-GAC.com.
H-GAC has compiled a comprehensive list of resources available on H-GAC's Disaster Recovery Resources and Funding page. This page provides swift access to financial assistance programs, funding, and support services for residents. This initiative aims to aid individuals, families, organizations, and communities in navigating the challenges posed by Hurricane Beryl and other crises.
Additionally, the newly launched Residential Resource Map page, a collaborative effort with Workforce Solutions and community partners, serves as a centralized hub for essential recovery resources within the region. On the page, residents can utilize this interactive tool to locate nearby emergency cooling centers, healthcare services, food, and other critical resources. The goal is to simplify the rebuilding and recovery process, enabling residents to easily find resources by entering an address, using their current location, or clicking on the map. This initiative ensures that residents have quick access to necessary support.
To continue our efforts, H-GAC encourages community partners with resources to share to reach out at [email protected] to have their services included on the website.
