HOUSTON, TX – Every day we plan how we are going to get to and from work: When should I leave? Do I have time to stop for a coffee? What do I need to do after work? Do I have enough gas? Bottom line – our commute is a big part of our daily routine and often feels like an extension of our workday.
According to INRIX data, Houston drivers waste over 66 hours a year sitting in traffic and spend an additional $1,200 on gas. Commute Solutions is here to help you explore your different commuting options and 'Avoid the Jam!'
Since 2019, our region also experienced:
- An influx of population (+361,000) – some surrounding counties grew by more than 17%!
- Over 200K new jobs were added, with Montgomery and Waller counties experiencing a large percentage of this economic activity
All this growth can result in longer travel times, increased traffic volume, and extended rush hours – making our drives to work even harder and more costly.
With regional growth outpacing our infrastructure's capacity and our traffic congestion exceeding pre-COVID numbers by 5%, it becomes increasingly more important for us to explore new options.
