More than 80% of waterways in the H-GAC region fail to meet water quality standards, or screening criteria, for one or more parameters. Although conditions are gradually improving, there is still work that needs to be done. A riparian buffer is one way individual landowners can help do their part in improving the region’s water quality.

Here you will find a general overview of the most common types of riparian buffers and their applications, as well as links to educational events, training workshops, and online videos.
