The focus of this project is a multi-use trail to provide accessability for pedestinan, bicyclists and other recreation users.

This project in many cases will abut many large tracts fo vacant land on the island that could be developed into large residential and/or multi-use developments.

This project will reduce the number of conflict points that existg between the major arterial roadways and the highly desired gulf of mexico beaches along Galveston Island.

The overall intent of this project is ot develop and engineering design that can be implemented by a physical construction project. This current project is to conduct a feasibility study and complete and engineering design package.

The proposed project will provide enhanced access to existing transit stops along the Seawall and provide greater protection for pedestrians all users while waiting for regularly scheduled pickups.
