The Spring Creek watershed area drains into the Lake Houston reservoir and covers portions of Grimes, Waller, Harris and Montgomery. Elevated levels of fecal waste, depressed dissolved oxygen, elevated levels of nitrogen and phosphorous compounds, and poor conditions for fish communities threaten the quality of water in Spring Creek and its tributaries. The Spring Creek Watershed Partnership developed a WPP that is slated for approval by the United States Environmental Protection Agency in 2023.
