Flexible Spending Account

H-GAC provides two Flexible Spending Accounts:

  • Medical – A way to budget and save for qualified medical expenses incurred over the course of the upcoming plan year. It allows you to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for costs not covered by insurance, such as co-pays, deductibles, and prescriptions, just to name a few.
  • Dependent Care – A way to budget and save money on Care for your dependents. It allows you to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for daycare expenses.
Employee Assistance Program

Employee Assistance is provided to employees and their dependents to help them overcome personal issues. The plan provides up to three face-to-face emotional or work-life counseling sessions per occurrence per year.

Estate Guidance/Will Service

Estate Guidance and Will Service are provided to employees at varying levels. Basic levels, depending on the vendor, are free to the employee, while more in-depth services require a monthly premium.

Identity Theft Protection

Identity Theft Protection is provided to employees at varying levels. Basic levels, depending on the vendor, are free to the employee, while more in-depth services require a monthly premium.

Travel Assistance

Travel Assistance is provided to employees who are more than 100 miles away from home for 90 days or less. Services may include evacuation and transportation, pre-trip information, emergency services, and identity theft assistance.

Ancillary Insurance Products offered by Colonial Life

H-GAC provides access to Colonial Life products. Various products may be purchased in accordance with policies, guidelines, and limitations that complement the employee’s specific needs.

Financial Wellbeing & Retirement

Retirement

H-GAC requires participation in the retirement plan by all H-GAC employees. H-GAC will contribute an amount on behalf of each member equal to 7% of the employee’s Considered Compensation (called the Supplemental Employer Contribution) for each payroll period during which the employee made a 3% required after-tax contribution or a 3% salary deferral election.

The employee is also permitted to make a voluntary after-tax contribution and/or to elect to defer an additional amount of their Considered Compensation up to a total of 100% of compensation. H-GAC offers both a traditional plan and a ROTH plan. Vesting increases over years of service with 100% vesting at year five.

Life & Accidental Death Insurance

H-GAC provides basic life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance to employees at no cost. Coverage is provided at one-time earnings up to a maximum. Employees have the option to purchase additional Voluntary Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance for themselves, their spouse, and their children. The premium for this insurance is collected through payroll deduction.

Short Term Disability

H-GAC offers employees access to an insurance provider where they can purchase short-term disability insurance based on the company’s policies, guidelines, and restrictions.

Long Term Disability

H-GAC provides employees with Long-Term Disability Insurance (LTD) at no cost. LTD provides approved employees with 66.67% of covered monthly pre-disability pay up to a maximum after a 90-day elimination period.

Healthcare Benefits

Medical

H-GAC currently provides three medical insurance plans, including two PPOs and one HMO. H-GAC covers the cost of two of these plans for employees only. Additional dependents may be covered at the employee’s expense.

Dental

H-GAC provides two dental insurance plans, a Preferred Provider Plan and a Dental Health Maintenance Organization. H-GAC covers the cost of two of these plans for employees only. Additional dependents may be covered at the employee’s expense.

Vision

H-GAC provides vision insurance that covers exams, lenses, lens options frames, contacts, and Lasik Laser Vision Correction at a percentage of cost or a maximum allowable cost. H-GAC covers the cost of two of these plans for employees only. Additional dependents may be covered at the employee’s expense.

Pharmacy Benefit

H-GAC provides a pharmacy benefit in conjunction with medical insurance. Prescription drugs may be refilled per guidelines at the generic, brand and non-formulary tiers each with an associated cost.

Telemedicine

H-GAC provides employees with true Telemedicine. Employees have over-the-phone access to a national network of board-certified doctors who diagnose, recommend treatment, and, when clinically appropriate, write short-term prescriptions.

Paid Leave

Employees earn vacation and sick time. Availability, accrual rate, and maximum carryover are subject to tenure requirements. H-GAC observes most regular holidays, and employees are also granted personal days according to tenure and may be approved for other leave, including Emergency Leave, Personal Leave, Civil Leave, Family Medical Leave, Military Leave, and Leave without pay. These leaves are determined by tenure, need, and executive-level approval.

9/80 Flexible Hybrid Schedule

H-GAC offers its employees the option to work a 9/80 schedule and engage in a hybrid work arrangement, contingent upon managerial approval and role suitability. This initiative is designed to mitigate traffic congestion and environmental impact by providing remote work alternatives. Additionally, H-GAC aims to promote work-life balance by affording greater flexibility in efficiently managing personal and professional commitments.

H-GAC supports your professional development through our tuition reimbursement program, which provides financial assistance for continuing education.
