The Socioeconomic Modeling Program is an information and research hub for Community and Environmental Planning. Program staff develop, analyze, and disseminate information on land use, economy, and population of the region.
Publications include forecasts for regional growth and staff presentations on the regional growth forecast, modeling tools, and U.S. Census updates for the Houston-Galveston region.

Published in 2017, this one-page flyer provides an overview of the Regional Growth Forecast elements and a snapshot of the population and employment growth forecast for the H-GAC region.

Presented August 1, 2014, at a half-day H-GAC-hosted workshop designed for participants to learn about the region's population, employment, and land use forecasts.
Presented at the Texas Economic and Demographic Association Workshop in May 2013.
Presented at the Transporrtation Resarch Board's "Using Census Data for Transportation Applications" Conference in October 2011. H-GAC's microsimulation model encompasses biological (aging, survival, birth), social (household formation/dissolution, migration), and economic (labor force participation, unemployment) events. Most of the model parameters (rates) are derived from the ACS PUMS data. The presentation outlines the structure of the model and discusses in detail the use of ACS PUMS data in the model.
