Making informed decisions about healthcare, housing, transportation, long-term care, and support for older adults, persons with disabilities, and other special needs populations can be overwhelming. The Texas Gulf Coast Aging and Disability Resource Center in the Houston-Galveston region can help you navigate the complex system of services offered by support agencies throughout the region.
Our Services
We provide services to 12 counties throughout the region except Harris County, which has its own aging and disability resource center. The counties we service include Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Galveston, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Waller, Walker, and Wharton. The same counties served by the Houston-Galveston Area Agency on Aging.
Services we offer to seniors and/or individuals with disabilities, include:

Information, assistance, and referrals to connect older adults, individuals with disabilities, and their caregivers to community resources close to home.

Housing assistance to help older adults and individuals with disabilities find affordable and accessible housing.

Objective Medicare information and education to beneficiaries to help them understand coverage changes and options.

Respite care services to help family and other unpaid caregivers to support and maintain the primary caregiving relationship.

Transition planning and counseling to support residents, who are not on Medicaid, as they transition to assisted-living communities.
